You will be Gubbe’s sole software engineer, responsible for designing, building, and maintaining our full ecosystem of internal and external tools. You will work closely with stakeholders across the organization to ensure our technology meets real user needs. You should feel comfortable engaging with users to gather feedback and continuously improve the product.

We are looking for someone who is eager to take ownership of their work and committed to driving them forward efficiently. This role can suit both a more experienced engineer or a motivated mid-level developer who is quick to learn, takes initiative, and is excited to grow into a high-responsibility role. Your work will directly impact the lives of seniors and the people who care for them.

Responsibilities:
• Own and develop Gubbe’s internal and external tools across the full stack (frontend, backend, and cloud)
• Build user-friendly interfaces using React, Next.js, and Tailwind
• Develop and maintain backend services, APIs, and PostgreSQL databases
• Take responsibility for architecture, deployments, and overall code quality
• Work closely with stakeholders to understand needs and continuously improve the product
• Identify opportunities to improve and automate systems and processes

Requirements:
• Proven experience in full-stack development
• Experience designing and maintaining relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL
• Hands-on experience with AWS in a production environment
• Experience building APIs and integrations between systems
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
• Ability to work independently, take ownership, and drive work forward
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
• Working proficiency in Finnish and English
• Ability to commute at least two days a week to the office in downtown Helsinki (fully remote is not possible)
